everything is looking good. Are you getting excited to move the fish into the DT? What do you think is your ETA on that?

It's looking like New years Eve.. I should have the salinity back to normal and then 2 more weeks of observation before that date!

Grrrr.. found one white spot on a part of the fish I hardly get to observe, almost made it 14 days with no ich.... I'm feeling pretty good that this will be that last of it. So with this new spot I am pushed out one more week into January before they can be put into the DT.

You might want to think about some kind of screen on top because I recently had one of my clowns jump! It was about 2-3 weeks after putting them in and I think they were chasing one another probably establishing their gender. Not sure but it sucked... Had no idea they could be jumpers

Small update, the second algae bloom is beginning to burn out. I see less and less Cyano each and day skimming wet helps a lot! New tanks take a lot of patience..lol

Well I am still waiting out this cyano outbreak, as soon as I get more salt I will begin a series of water changes to suck out what I can off the sand. I blew it all off the rocks and that worked great but now it's all over the sand.

I must assume that my dry-rock or live-rock is leaching nutrients, I have not fed the tank anything in weeks (nothing but snails anyways) so it must be coming from the rocks. I have increased flow near the sand but that's causing it's own problems, when I suck out some of the sand I may replace or add sea floor grade substrate, it's larger than sugar sand and wont blow around so much.

My clowns are still in hypo 30 + days now, they are very healthy looking and always hungry.. :-( This should all be over soon and at some point I will have a reef tank and not a snail tank... lol

So I finally added a small light over my fuge so that I can begin to grow macro algae and look what I found growing on one of the rocks.... Can anyone ID this coral?

I used 3 different white settings on the camera thats why they all look different.

Well it's been a while since I updated but today is a historic day for my tank. My Clowns are cured of any parasites and ready to enter the DT...

I almost forgot I also added a fire shrimp today, he went strait into hiding. I will try to get pics of them all in the tank once the lights come back on in the morning.

How is your overflow for noise? The tank i have just bought has the same overflow and was wondering if it runs silent?

It's pretty quiet, I found putting a couple of egg-crate pieces in the overflow (cut to fit exactly ) on top of the inside cover helped a lot (no gurgle), it allowed me to crank up the flow from my return and also keep the noise down. I mostly hear water in the pipe now. At this point my skimmer is the noisiest part of my setup, but not for long.

Everything is lookin pretty good now that I have some life in the tank. My Fire Shrimp has found a cave to hang out in and the clowns appear to be feeding on copepods in the tank.

Today I added a second Vortech MP10 ES to the tank, wow do I ever have enough flow now... Both are set on reef crest mode...60% for one and 70% for the other I have no corals yet so I will adjust for corals when I get some...

My cyano has dissipated and been replaced with a brown hair algae, it seems to grow mostly on the rocks and a little in the sand. I have phosban coming to help with phosphate removal and at some point I will need a tester to figure out where it's coming from if it's not just left over nutrients from cycling..

The clowns spend the entire day hunting for pods on the back wall of the tank, I had no idea they would eat pods but it's pretty cool.. They ate frozen shrimp this morning along with the fire shrimp who comes out when I feed to scoop up what he can..

That's it for now...

So today I received my new ATI T5 bulbs and wow is my tank ever brighter...

I have in order front to back
ATI Blue +
ATI Purple +
KZ New Gen 14K
ATI Blue +

The added Purple + is way cool my fire shrimp is really red now...

On the bad side so is my cyano outbreak.. :-(

My old bulbs were 2 10k daylights and 2 actinics.. The new bulbs made a huge difference for me.

Today my Conch finally woke up and began eating his way across the tank, he needs to get to work ..hahaha..
