Acan coral identification please
Could you guys positively ID these common, “of what I assume are variations of acans”, please guys.
These are all common around here and the pics are from three days back. Thanks for any help with this! 1 2 3 4 5 |

I think the first one is a bowerbanki. We grow a red morph of that...the heads on the hillae aren't as irregular and large...

If you have them both together it is a lot easier, lol, yeah...head size is soooo hard to judge in a pic!
My customers get irritated with me sometimes, I think, lol...they ask me do I have any acans while standing next to hillae, echinata, and bower. So, I say "Well, yes, I do...but I think you might be looking for a lord...since there are three types of acans right there..." and point to a spot right beside them. Lords always sell out first. I think I also have a...hmmm...NOT hillae...but close...and not a bower...can't figure out what it is!!! |

That's the best guess I have had so far, yeah! We are amateurs though, all of us...without a microscope and a piece of skeleton (and probably some other science type items, lol) is always just our best guess! Funnest guessing game I know, though!
