Return Pump Recommendation

Looking to set up a 120g tank with a Trigger 36 sump, any idea what size pump (GPH range) I should use? I’m thinking of upgrading to a DC for the controllability but wondering if I’ll then be sacrificing reliability.

Any advice / insight is greatly appreciated.

One rated to push 3 to 10x display tank after the approximate head loss for your specific application

I use a eheim 1262 as the return for my 120DT. If ever there were a "tried and true" pump for this hobby, the eheim is it. Although this one is only 6 years old, I have another that is running my FT that is over 30 years old and still going strong. I fully expect that the new one will last at least as long.

Eheim and magdrive are the way to go. Mag 10 is what I had on my 125g.

I also run an Eheim 1262 on my 120, a great pump.

The answer is always Eheim!
I use an eheim 1250 that has been running non stop since 2012 in my 75 gallon reef and a 1262 on my 180 gallon reef that has been up for 6 months.
