HD's Red Sea Reefer White 750 XXL SPS Tank Build
Hi All,
I just picked up my Red Sea Reefer 750 XXL with the white stand yesterday. I am super excited to start the build on this. We had our house built about a year ago and we had the basement finished. So I built a 220g Mixed Reef in the wall down in the basement. I broke down my old Red Sea Reefer 450 and put the inhabitants into the 220. Sorry, I never really did a build thread for it. With this set up I will be doing an SPS Build mostly trying to grow from frags. My brother came over yesterday and with the help of a neighbor we brought the tank in the house. We started building the stand and getting it ready to put into its new spot. But before I can get the tank rolling along I am in a slight delay because the wife wanted me to paint the wall first. Cheap trade off I guess . So after we built the stand I put a nice coat of primer on the wall. Today I will be painting the wall. I will start posting the pics so I can keep a log and see the progress. So follow along and let me know if you have any cool ideas that can help me out along the way.

HD's Red Sea Reefer White 750 XXL SPS Tank Build
Pic of the stand but I still need to put the doors on and sump in before I do that. Also the new Ecotech Vectra L1 pump and a reef link for ease of control for the radions, return pump and the vortech. Plus you can see our sample color on the wall. [ATTACH]377222[ATTACH]377223

The wall is painted and I also worked on putting some under cabinet lighting in last night. Sump is also in and now I can put the tank in it's final destination. Pretty cool the sump has a nice baffle system to adjust the size of the skimmer area and raise the height of the water. Should help keep the sump looking clean without making a skimmer stand. Love this tank, want it to be my next. Why did you go from the 220 to this tank?

Haha I hear ya. What's cool is I've been in the hobby for over 15 years and I remember when the nicest tanks were oceanics. They have a lot of cool stuff now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Would you say that this system could be set on carpet with the small feet that it comes with? I’m getting ready to order one and would like to know. Thanks.

Yes it would work fine on carpet. I need to post pics and do an update. I absolutely love this tank setup. I am running radions and I moved most of my corals and added quite a few. Time for updated pics.

Hoosier - Thanks for the thread. I’m relocating to Denver from San Diego and I’m trying to decide how/if the hobby can follow me there. There are a ton of moving parts but I think you can help by answering some RedSea Reefer and Denver specific questions, if you don;t mind!
* Did you buy the take/stand as standalone items, or did you buy the package that comes with lights/sump. If so, was the value worth it? * What does your water change process look like? You have a tank in the basement and a tank on your main level. Where do you mix your salt? * Do you have an RODI system? If so, is it in the basement? And is your RedSea Reefer plumbed to the basement? * Do you have an outrageous water bill? What does that look like if you are running an RODI system? I don;t have experience there. Thanks in advance! Joe |

No problem thanks for asking. Let me see if I can answer these in the order you asked. 1. I bought the setup for tank and stand only and added radions and now the aquatic life hybrid T5. 2.I have a mixing station in my basement and I just run a hose with a clamp upstairs when doing my water change. I use a big pump that can move water so it's quick. See pic. 3. Yes I use the Vertex RODI. 4. Reefer is not plumbed to in basement. Getting ready to add a reef synergy Reservoir with Neptune ATK. 5. My water bill seems normal. I make water only as needed and shut RODI off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
