Any ideas what these white spots are?

I have these small white spots all over a number of my rocks near the top of the tank. Each one is about 1/16" and are oval-shaped. I actually pulled one rock out to examine and they can be scraped off with the tip of a knife and they seem to be hollow. They are almost like little seeds stuck to the rock.

Look at the rock the red Zoa frag is sitting on

Well, it's not bad LOL. They usually don't hatch and/or survive.
