Mp40 wet side "rattling"

I got some mp40s from a member here that are about 6-8 months used. One is great, but the other keeps rattling. If I adjust it in tank it goes away a few seconds but then comes back. I can get it to be normal for a few hours but inevitably the rattle comes back. If I turn the pump up or down it still rattles and gets faster or slower with the speed. I'm thinking of taking the wet side apart but am looking for tips on what I should look for? I've never taken a wet side apart.

Are the wet and dry side aligned perfectly? Did you mount the cord correctly so the dry side is not sliding out of alignment?

Yes and yes. I had mp10s never had a problem and the other mp40 mounted the same way exactly as instructed is fine. I have been futzing with it for a few days now to get it right to no avail.

But you just gave me an idea. I'm going to swap wet sides and see if the problem follows the wet side. If nof then I know it has to be some kind of alignment or dry side movement issue.

So the rattling followed the wet side when i swapped them, so it's definitely something with this wet side assembly.

try taking it apart and giving it a good cleaning in some vinegar. maybe something came loose or isnt sitting right within the assembly.

I had one that did this. $20 dollar maintenance kit fixed it.
