Saw your brief review. Can't wait for your follow up. I'm pretty much waiting to see what you say before I purchase

Where'd you get it? I have the dc6000 for return and am wanting to find this skimmer. Really like the looks of it and the DC3000 is a great pump for a skimmer.

Working on a new video to report on how it's actually working. But so far, I'm really happy about this skimmer and it's performance.

Nice can't wait to see. I just received mine but haven't tested it yet. What optimum water height do you have it set at and what power level?

No, It's actually quite hard to measure because of the construction with external parts. But I would say it is slightly smaller. I moved the air intake to get a better fit in my sump, and the it get's a bit "thinner" as well.

Maybe you know how much air does this skimmer produces? I cannot find such info, even guys from fish-street does not know. Air intake I believe is the main parameter with skimmers

I decided to bite the bullet and givte this skimmer a try based on the price and the video review of the op.
Overall the skimmer is built well with thick acrylic, clean lines and precise control with the gate the valve. The pump runs near silent and the feed mode is nice feature if you want to let the food/additive soak for a little while. Not really needed but cool I think overall it's to early for me to tell if the skimmer is a winner but it's not a loser. I am having some issues with the pump sorta surging causing the level to raise and lower a bit in the body making it a little difficult to get a dry foam consistently contacted Fs but haven't gotten any response yet. But could just be break in issues as its going on 3 days in the system . I'm running it on the third light on the controller due to my thought on it not getting enough air on the lower settings. I'm not sure what percentage it's at now as the instructions are pretty vague. I'll update the thread once it's settled in but initial feelings on it are 50/50. I need to let it break in properly to see if it outperforms my SSA cs2 or the skimz 181 I have. Some pics for reference of size for those wondering. 5g bucket vinegar bath. Compared to my SSA CS2.. After 24 hours (still wet trying to let it break in =) Little better after 2 days not close to the froth I'm used to seeing though. The cs2 and skimz produce foam like the top of a frosty glass of beer.. And for good measure the young heavily fed tank I'm hoping it will keep up with =) .. Let me know if you guys have any questions or I didn't cover something your interested in..
