$10 at amazon. It's touch sensitive and dimmable.

OK all, not much new on the tank build front. I'm in a holding pattern due to the kitchen remodel that has been underway for the last three weeks. Enjoy the pics

Getting closer. The stand took forever to prime and paint. I made a spray booth in my basement and put a space heater in there but it still took a month for the primer to dry. Total frustration, but it all worked out. The doors are still drying so in the meantime I filled the tank and checked all the plumbing for leaks. Only had one tiny drip in the manifold.

Assembled the 80/20 light stand that I engineered for the AP700's So far everything is coming along nicely. Should have my rock by next week.

Your fit-n-finish and attention to detail for aesthetics is superb.

Krisp!

Looks very good. Wish I had the handyskills to build a stand like that. I want to build a Canopy for my Red Sea Reefer. Might get a pro to do it instead

Know your limitations!

Kitchen looks good! Did you do it yourself? I did mine a few years back. Told the wife it would only take 6 weeks. 9 months later...if was finished.

My last build was a 58 gallon oceanic that I built into the wall of our old house. I actually built an entire living room in our basement just for that tank. Fast forward to 2017 and the kids are getting bigger, and we've been in our new(er) house for five years. I really can't believe it's been over a decade since I had a reef tank. Maybe it's the over 40 crisis but I'm ready to get back into it.

I fell in love with the dimensions of the 80 gallon Deep Blue frag tank. I always wanted a shallow reef back in the day and this tank is a great size for our living room. I decided to put my skills to work and build the stand so that the tank could be viewed on three sides. I've always dreamt of a peninsula tank.

I'm uploading a bunch of pics from my phone to document the journey. Thanks for reading!
I just started reading your thread as we are moving and my 60 cube has no good place to fit in new house so looking at the 80 gallon deep blue tank in your build. But I mainly wanted to post on your turning 40. I am 38 and I remember hearing about mid life crisis growing up thinking to myself that's BS. Well, that it is real, and I got it. A year ago I was 100 lbs over weight and today I run 5 miles a day, takes me about 1.15 hours a day. Paranoid as hell I am going keel over tommorow, but I am in better shape!

Anyways somone point me in the direction of the psychiatric forums!

Hey amazing setup. Can you price out everything for us, from memory, don't go digging around for receipts. I saw you said a year, I was wanting to ask, would you consider a basic build, what you have minus all the extras like pocket door on side, just a stand not primed or painted. If you can't all, good worth asking, as this is what I want, but need to have build up and going for move. 45 days.

RI doesn't help either, being in Florida.

I was in the same boat. I had to hire it out. They were done exactly on schedule with no hiccups. Total time was 5 weeks.

The most expensive part by far were the lights. I think I should qualify for BRS customer of the year too.
