Thanks, but I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not close to an expert. I’ve only been doing this a couple months and still have a lot to learn about it. I think that there is not really a set standard but rather parameters to work within. One of the things I think that’s help me is I’m not afraid to try different things.

Just like, I start doing ½ gallon daily water changes after day 3 (I use 5 gallon tanks) other may say don’t do any water change until after meta. For me this has really increased my survival rate and always remember to drip the replacement water back in.

Something else I do is, the night of the hatch I let them swim for a couple of hour then I load the tank with rotifers and will not turn the lights out for the first 48 hours. I also use pretty strong air flow with an air stones on each end of the tank because I don’t want them laying on the bottom in groups and let fungus get them. When I’m around and see some on the bottom I will take a turkey baster and blow them back into the water column. Now these are things that are working for me, you might find better ways for your set ups.

The one thing that is a set standard, it’s a hell of a lot of WORK!

Nice work. Wanted you to know that I am still enjoying the thread! I now have a harvestable population of rotifers, so the next batch of eggs are going into a 5 gallon tank for me to make my first attempt. Your thread has been an important part of my research, thank you for it!

You are more than weclome muttley000 but I really don't know that much, but as I said earlier I'm willing to try things and what ever I learn I will share with the forum. It's a hobby and we should all share and enjoy it.

Tonight I feed spawn 7 a large amount of BBS and they are eating them like pigs on day 6. I also feed some rots for those not so advanced. They will start meta tomorrow. Just took this video and lights are out now.

Day 34 five weeks tomorrow.

I’m shocked at how fast they can grow, other than the large batch of BBS I feed on day 32, I’ve not change anything.
Click to play video.

Thanks for sharing your experiences as I have enjoyed them. I am curious about the one clownfish with the different looking eye. It seems to be a perc and the others are ocellaris.

Oh it's not just the one they all have that eye color. I posted my breeder pair pic in other forums and everyone thinks they are ocellaris but the more I study about them I think they are a cross between percula and black, but I'm no clown ID expert. Trust me on that.

Either way, I commend you for rearing these little fellows. I hope to try my hand at breeding my snowflakes some day. :thumbsp:

Spawn 5 day 39

As they get larger I notice that their pelvic fins are black. Not sure what to make of it really just know they are very healthy.

http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...t=sp5day39.mp4

Spawn 7 day 12 is really looks good but much different in color.

http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/...7/sp7day12.jpg

Spawn 8 hatches tomorrow night and after that I'm done for awhile. Need a break bad!

Bok….I start feeding a little crushed dry food about the 8-9 day and by day 14 I have them totally weaned off live foods. That’s just how I do it.

TDO-1 Jo

I don't collect my fry my pair spawns on a slate and I had a nice hatch tonight but I'm very tired. Been busy the who night and I'm taking a break for awhile. Just going to let them (new clutchs) go back to the reef and that is so hard because I will always think what would this spawn look like after meta. Four spawns in a row means break time.

I always forget how tiny they really are until the next hatch. These have be hatched about 2 hours now.

You’re very welcome!

RC is a wonderful site for learning and sharing experiences good or bad and we want to keep it that way. I remember starting the reefing journey on Oct. 20th 2010 and how helpful and patience everyone was helping with all the stupid questions I had. With that being said I only think it fair to give back when I get the opportunity. I have always posted a lot of photos and videos because I believe that the visual aids can say it best.

Day 43.

These guys were 6 week old yesterday. Amazing how fast they grow.

Click to play video.

Spawn 7 out grew their nursery tank so I move them to a 20L yesterday at 2 weeks old. They have been my largest hatch so far.
