Connection between pendant and ballast

Hi all,

I just bought a generic pendant with 250w DE connection from a reefer here. It came in from the mail yesterday, it appeared that it had 2 white wires coming out from the socket and no ground. I emailed him to which one is white and which one is black, also if I need to run my own ground wire from the pendant. He said it doesn't matter which is which, as long as I connect it to the white and black wire from the ballast and just ground the ballast.

I'm not really good at electric and I would like someone to confirm that for me please.

Thanks

Jeff

what colors do you have on the ballast itself. You should have white black and green for the power, what are your bulb wires. Are they white and black as well?

If the power cord is already taken care of and you have 3 left, the black and white will go to either white wire and the pendant should usually be grounded to the ballast itself

Just connect either to either. You just have to complete the circuit.

The bulb is AC not DC so it doesn't matter which wires go where on the pendant. As long as each of the wires coming from the ballast go to a wire on the pendant you should be fine.
