Nuclear Green Palys Question

Okay, I bought 5 polyps of nuclear green palys last thursday on craigslist. I started them off on the sand after I drip acclimated them. I've tried various locations to see what they like the best. Maybe I'm being impatient.. but they aren't opening up as big as I think they should.. the color isn't bad, it could be better. I have 4 x 24w t5 (2 x actinic, 2 x 10k) on a 20H. Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks!

It's way too early to be desperate, but to acclimate the polyps to your system.
You could also target feed them with coral food, like Fauna Marin Pellets, once or twice a week.
They'll look much better after a while.

I moved them up high on the rock, do you think I should wait on that? Or just leave them there?

Normally we should place new additions on the sand, that would be the best choice.

I have a large colony and a medium colony of nuclear greens grown from a single polyp over a few years.. They are hardy . They like it on the bottom but with unshaded light in my halide lit tanks.

You have halides though.. I don't really think you can compare t5 and halide..

I have them in several tanks and they seem to do better in subdued lighting. I have mostly LEDs now and they still like it low in the tank. They are britghter green than when kept in strong lighting.

I run T5's and have them in the mid section of my tank, and they're doing very good.

So it sounds like the lower half should be the best for sure

They can be placed on the sand or close to the surface with T5 or MH.
It doesn't matter, really. As long as you adapt them slowly...

I've had them under MH before, close to the top, and now I've got them on the sand and on the rocks with T5s. They are hardy and do great anyway. They reproduce a lot if you target feed them!!!

My point was about adapting them to you system. If they don't bleach they'll be fine...
