I googled smithii's and shell rot and did note that Doc Roy did state that he "...did not remember ever seeing shell rot in G. smithii." I have been looking at the specimen listed on BlueZoo for two days and just can't overlook the white spots on it. I cannot tell if they're on the stom or if it's simply debris in the water column.

i was just looking at that smithii again and it does look like to me like the spots are on a lens or deebree in the water but i also noticed the points on the telson look to be missing or blunted somehow, it's been a while since i've had a smithii but i'm prety shure they should come to a sharp point

If anyone is interested I am selling my female peacock because we are moving across the country. I wish there was a way to keep her, I have grown quite attached to this little thing. I'm in Vegas so if any one is nearby send me a PM.

Marine Garden has a yellow mantis for sale that they list as being approximately 8 feet long...for $69, that's a bargain!

That G. Ternatensis is really beautiful. It's a good thing that I don't have room for any more tanks. I'd go broke!

Lol...I just asked our twins which they prefer: our existing puffer or rehome it and get the tern...they elected for keeping our spiny box puffer. Oh well...kids first lol.

Shipping $ makes me so sad. Eyeballing that one, but may have to let wallet speak when I have at least one for sure shop that can get me a Sycllarus @ $60.
Wish I lived on the coast. |
