will this work to start my QT?
I have filter sponges in sump but that wmight take a while to deveop the bacteria.. can I just dump this into QT and get started?

I have not seen live bacteria in a bottle before...at least do anything but take money out of your wallet.
Do you need the QT for treatment of a sick fish, or just to QT new additions? I would suggest throwing in a rock from your DT that you wouldn’t mind if you had to toss because of a potential infection by a new fish. The rock will have enough bacteria to seed the QT, especially if you are only QTing a few fish and are mindful of over feeding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am setting it up for new fish.. not going to wait for a cycle.. just going to watch ammonia levels and treat with copper and prazi since I am getting multiple fish at a time.

Right on. Copper will kill all the inverts so nix the LR idea. Do you have filter socks? You could throw that in a filter for the new tank.
I’d grab an HOB filter tomorrow and set it up on your DT for a few weeks. The floss in the filter will be seeded with bacteria. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
