Thanks.
Pair 1 female looks like a reg true perc right now but her left side previously had Onyx colors. She lost it due to her previous host anemone, BTA

I like to show my WC Onyx pair too. Here is the Female. She was recently acquired from a LFS. Her previous owner brought her back to the store due to unclear reason. She was thin, have scars on her head and all yellow instead of orange. After several weeks under my care she have fatten up and regain her orange color. The scar on her head have improve a lot. Hopefully she will fully heal.

Here is the male (along with a different view of the female). I have had him for several months. Initially he was not an Onyx but gain a lot of color under my care (mainly due to living in a Gigantea anemone)

This was how he looks when I first got him at the end of April, 2019. He is the fish on the right, in focus.

An here is the picture of my small Multicolor Gigantea. I will send this anemone to a friend in the next week or two.

Very nice clowns. This pair will be really special. With a Gigantea, this pair will likely be all black with orange in the caudal, anal, pectoral and perhaps the adipose fins, essentially the same coloration as the darker fish of pair Number 1.
Is pair number 2 newly imported WC?

Larger clown from Pair 2 has developed dropsy. She's been swimming around bloated and at one point released liquid cysts from her anus. Pair 2 is in QT undergoing Kanaplex, Metroplex and Prazipro treatments. I might try to give it an Epsom salt bath tomorrow.

Very well could be. It’s been a challenge with this pair. I’m leaning towards Lympho diagnosis. There’ve been too many medications in QT. She’s covered with white spots but eating well. Perhaps time to get them out of QT

Dropsy looks different. Most notably the fish's body scales are standing up and make the fish look like a pinecone. This looks more like the fish has eaten too much, is full with eggs. As a sign of disease it could be a tumor or blocked intestines. Eating well and behaving normal would speak against the latter.

I’m aware of the pinecone shaped scales in dropsy; just wasn’t sure if that was more of a freshwater fish symptom.

It's the same with saltwater fish. This year I actually had a few fish that developed dropsy and they certainly looked like bloated pinecones.

Pair 1 in their magnifica. They need a gigantea. The only way I've been able to keep wild Onyx clowns black in Magnifica is when they also had a gigantea in the same tank.
The male is simply perfection, form and color wise (Apologies for not so humble brag).

Took pair 2 out of QT. They are acting normal and eating very well.
The white spots in the photo are actually baby snails on aquarium glass.

He looks like the male of my pair #4. The female of that pair is close, but has the hard ray part her dorsal fin and a little of her back orange.

All of the wild Onyx clowns I have are very food driven. They'll wait for pellets to drop for minutes at a time and will continue to beg for more even after they get it.
Video 1 (waiting for food)

Video 2 (patience rewarder)
