Free Pods!

I'm still in the early stages of my tank setup. I did the bagged (live) sand but then added 20 lbs of (seeded) live sand from my LFS. I still saw no life in my "live" sand. I bought 25lbs of the LFS cured live rock to seed my base rock and possibly my sand, and asked about cheato for my fuge. The owner GAVE me a nice clump of the stuff and I put it in the sump. It is loaded with pods and bristle worms! I've been spending money trying to get these beneficial critters, and I just got them for free with the macro. They are growing like crazy in the fuge. Just an FYI.

Smile

I've seen a lot of pods in the DT, they are able to flow/swim from the fuge to the return section of the sump. I've got small pieces of rock and a couple of inches of sand in the fuge. Bristle worms crawl in and out of the holes in the rock, but I don't think they can get from fuge to return area to get to the DT. I may put the rock with the worms into the DT if I see the worm population in the fuge grow.
