To throw around...not at all...

On a daily basis I teach...but also some real estate...

Sad to hear though, it was a sweet looking fish.

Deepwater trigs, especially the males seem to be very sensitive...

Totally bummed this happened and feel real bad for the person at dd who was cleaning the tank...

But, as you said, glad it happened when it did...and I did not get him doa or have him pass while under my care...

I have had a few Pinktails- kept one for 13 years...they were all wonderful and mellow fish but would stand up for themselves if picked on...however, my current Pinktail is just a mean and nasty fish...

Well cool beans. I used to teach in my hometown but now have moved into technical support, at least where I come from teachers are just not paid well enough for all the extra hours required.

As I mentioned, the Outrigger Trig died while still at dd...hope to get one soon...her is a list of the trigs in the tank...smallest is the Rhinecanthus Aculeatus at an inch or so...Ehinecanthus Cinereus is the biggest at 8 plus...I keep them very well fed to reduce aggression...most have been with me since tiny....

I just got a Nu-Clear 522 to use on my tank, and I noticed that the stem of the pressure gauge looked rather coppery. I asked them about it, and the response was that it was brass, and therefore safe even for inverts. The literature says otherwise. Are you using their pressure gauge? I realize that you don't have inverts in there, but copper is bad for more than just decorative inverts.

my big update is I just ordered 5 of these for the tank...got a nice deal...
hope to be in the 1st shipment that would arrive in early Oct...if not, they will arrive in late Nov.

WOW those look amazing and I'm willing to be they will be the best lights on the market once they are released. Ever since the anounce of their pre-order I keep trying to find ways to save money so I can put a few of those over my tank. Maybe next year I'll scrape together enough cash... Do you have a P3 controller? If not you shoud defenetly consider it, I love mine and it is defenetly worth the money to give you full control over those lights.

Can you give us the specs of what you ordered? I haven't looked into them in great detail but I think they have different color fixtures (I'm assuming you ordered black because of the picture). And I thought they had different color options for the LED. I can't wait to see those over your tank!

I have been saving for this tank I think my entire life, lol...been waiting for just the right lights, when I heard about these last year the sounded perfect and keep getting better, as they keep refining them...so it is tough for me to release specs because they keep improving them...
I ordered the silver ones...did not get the narrow beam reflectors or the additional hyperviolets...the lights will becontrolled off my laptop and I will get a controller down the line, they are still perfecting that and told me to hold off...
love the lighting mode and the sunrise/sunset and how that will roll over each of the 5 units...
this is from another site..."The upcoming GHL Mitras LX 6100 LED light got a bit more refined ahead of its release this fall along with announcing special preorder pricing if you place your order before August 30. The final version of the Mitras LED light will feature nine separate, dimmable channels with the addition of the additional channel of neutral white LEDs. On top of the boost in white, they increased the level of hyperviolet LEDs from two to six hitting in the 425nm wavelength. The final numbers boast up to 72 high-power LEDs in the Mitras fixture. You can also add narrow beam reflectors and additional hyperviolet LEDs to the mix."

I really like the sunrise/sunset setting and you can imagine it rolling from one unit into the next...each unit can be a master or slave...if each is a master, you get the roll effect...
