Alk question

If a CArx discharges effluent at a constant drip rate 24/7, does the reef consume Alk at a constant rate 24/7 or does it fluctuate based on respiration (light cycle)?

Would a continuous Alk graph look linear or more like every reef’s daily ph graph?

Thanks

It should vary some based on the light cycle, as I recall, but that should vary depending on species. I tend to forget the details on such issues, though. I wouldn't worry much about it, but it might be interesting to track it, as a sort of science experiment.
