12 gallon nano cube build
I’ve been out of the hobby for around 7 years. I’m starting with small tank then on to another bigger build.
Here’s what I have so far 12 gallon nano cube I removed the top rim I changed the pump to mj 900 Led fixture it is aquascaped and running as of today. Tell me what u think of the aquascape. My plans are mixed reef with some nice clown fish. |

Just a word of caution...is that particular tank still structurally sound with the removal of the top trim? I know in many cases the trim provides structural support to the tank. Just something to consider and keep an eye on.

I would think so it’s only 12 gallon and I left the square part on the back.

The rock so near the glass will interfere with cleaning and I would be concerned on the glass strength without the rim. You also exposed the top edge to impact damage which easily could be the beginning of big time glass cracking. Risk is way too high for whatever you gained by removing the rim. Good luck.
