would this work in a fish room?
Everyone struggles with moisture in the air. I was tossing around the idea that a dehumidifier in a fish room, with the water drawn out draining back into the sump, would be the answer.
First problem I see is the way the humidifier works, it cools copper coils and the water vapor condenses on that. So the copper would get into the water. But what if the copper tubes were siliconed so there was a barrier between the copper tubes and water forming? Might lose some effectiveness but in my mind (scary place) it works Opinions?

Honestly I would definitely be worried about the chemistry of the water. Why not just let it drain into the house, well, drain?
A better option than a dehumidifier would be a single-room air conditioner or RV air conditioner. It would cool the room and keep the humidity down. The drain for that can run into a slop sink that would be perfect for cleaning reactors, skimmer cups, etc. Nook has the kind of setup I'm talking about. Nook, pictures please? Hope this helps!

Haha yeah, I forgot you had the A/C in there, Dave. That's what I was talking about! Nook has a drain that runs around the outer edge of his fish room too, if we could get some pictures of that to show off that part I was referring to. I was quite impressed at the forethought that went into that when I saw it.
What do you think about that, Clark? Once we figure out your placement of your tank, we can get you rolling! I live nearby to you as well, I'd be glad to help if you need it.

Hey Dave, how much does one of those a/c's cost? I thought about getting one for my basement.

I would not reclaim that water. Too much effort to purify it and not worth the risk.
