Hi Everyone,

The club is proud to announce this year’s Family Fun Day is Sunday August 4th.

All memberships must be current, we will not be offering renewals or sign ups the day of; if you’re not sure please ask Vinny or myself and we’ll let you know when your membership expires.

Sign up is a little different this year.

- Members this year will have an admission fee of $10 per person, admission to the Aquarium and lunch are included.
- Friends and outside family members are welcome with a reduced admission of $10. Access to the catered lunch (burgers/dogs/wraps) will be an addition $15.
- The Birds and Butterflies exhibit is NOT included, there will be an admission charge of $13.50 for everyone including club members who wish to visit this exhibit.
- Tickets will be issued again this year.
- Walk ins will be accepted the day of but only until lunch.
- After 12:00 everyone must use their ticket to gain entry, Aquarium staff will charge you otherwise.

To purchase tickets, add friends/family or tickets to the Birds and Butterflies exhibit sign up is here: http://www.longislandreef.org/ffd.html

Hope you can make it.

Is it $10 per member or $10 for member and each family member (me+daughter = ?$)?

It's $10 per person, so $20 you and your daughter and includes lunch.

I can't get on the LIRA forums for some reason. I would like to get a few of these tickets but it's giving me problems. I see I can buy them there at the event, but do those also include lunch?

Hi John,

The page to purchase tickets is http://www.longislandreef.org/ffd.html, it does not require a login or access to the site. I'll also double check to see if your account is activated.

Just a question.... Is there anything special to do when you show up? A person behind the counter to look for to gain access? Once there is there any sort of times for any family fun day activities or are we just kind of milling around until we meat for lunch?

Joe Lanzon & I usually have a table near the bridge into the exhibits.
See us there please.
Sea lion show & boat rides are time specific.

Nothing special except extra activities @ extra times & cost.
Behind the scenes tours usually run for a while.
The doors open @ 10.

Anyone want to meet up for an informal photography lesson\discussion. I got a DSLR last December and spent the last six months taking over 10K photos.

I hope to get to the aquarium around 10:30, its easier to photograph the tanks before it gets crowded.

You might be surprised. My 9 year old took this picture after I setup the camera for her.

Not sure I'd trust my girl with my camera... she does enjoy taking pictures with my I-pod though.
