I also have a Taotronics 120w (55x3W) from Ebay. It's the black housing w/ 30 blue:25 white LEDs. I'll try to get some PAR numbers for it later.

thank ianrusso for your help ... i also only saw 2 reviews on the first link i post and i dont like that they werent willing to fix the problem themselves yet they advertise it has a 2 year warranty... so far people who have had problem with aqaurium led units have got there problems fixed right away by them .... i dont like the bad customer service its a huuuge turn off for me

THANKS! That should help alot of people. Can't wait to see how they compare to the Taotronics. I'm betting the Taotronics are gonna beat the aquariumleds.

Par is the same via their site for the 14 and 20. Just think it's weird the numbers are 1/2 off. Very weird.

What do these par number mean in an actual tank environment? For example, is 100 par at 18 inches good enough to keep a clam on the sandbed? SPS anywhere? Or are those low numbers that would limit stocking choices and locations?

Thanks for the par numbers. I was wondering the par on those dimmable ones.

And like jeffesaurusrex says, what do these par numbers mean? and what can you keep at these depths with the par numbers?

This is fairly close, but some are a little understated, consider this a minimum for healthy corals. Good job on the numbers Alan, I wonder how far off the Apogee 200 is from the mega one that Sanjay uses, supposedly the one he has reads all of the spectrums more accurately.

Wow, a lot of work! Thank you. I have 2 of the Taotronics over my frag tank and I am testing a plate coral and an sps frag. The SPS seems to be doing good after 12 days, the plate coral frag seems to be losing color. I am thinking too much light. Time will tell.

Is the AquariumLEDs.com unit really 120w? If yes, it means they drive the chips to max wattage?

I finally could install them in my tank. I am very pleased with the color. I had a single actinic t5ho to supplement in case it was necessary, but there is no difference if the t5 is on on or off, the leds are just too intense.

In terms of light spread is really good, I have two units hanging at 10cm (4 inches) from the tank. The tank dimensions are 56 x 24 x 24 (140 x 60 x 60).

jucario, Do you have the Taotronics or unbranded version? Looks like theres some variation in wattage.
