Hanna phosphate checker question

I emailed hanna last night but then realized they probably arent open on the weekend. Im sure one of the pros here knows the answer though. Does anyone know if you need to get 100% of the reagent into the vile? I did the my first test and it shows 0.0 with +/- accuracy I could be from 0 to 0.4, great, but I did get a little powder on the rim, so Im doubting the results now.

I try to.

I get a small piece of paper and put a crease in it. I then open the packet of reagent and pour it on the paper. I open the packet completely and make sure all of it gets on the paper. I then use the folded paper and pour the reagent into the vile.

Thats a good idea, didnt think of that. I'm going to do the test again and see if the results are the same but just wondering how critical it actually is.

I was able to get all the reagent in and it read .04 this time. Close enough considering it could just be the +/- error of the tester anyways.

I would ask Hanna. I don't know enough about how the kit works to be sure.

I ran across a post last year and it stated that there's a little extra in each pouch. However we always try to get all of it. The Checker is a great little tool for the money.

go to the hanna website. they have a video on how to cut the envelope and make a little funnel with it. it works really good.
