It is hard in thailand to find nice dry rock I love the look of Pukani from BRS But this will have to do Once its covered by coral, it should look pretty good, i think.... Think i will get me some Cardinals to test the water The tank has been running for a week now and the water parameter is good We'll see Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Bangkok. When I was a kid I had a 100 gallon freshwater tank. I would often go to Chatuchak market to buy what I needed. How does the cost of keeping a reef tank in Bangkok compare with the prices you see in western countries?

Nice!
I had my nano when i was in San Francisco for 4 years I gotta say i love fish store there much much much more I would say live stocks here is much cheaper if its local fish and coral Although a lot of sps is kinda illegal in Thailand. The legal ones, lps and soft coral, are cheaper than in the us. You can get a frag of green star poly the size of a coin for like 5$ A percular clown cost about 5-10$, where in the US it would cost 30$ But all the equipments is cheaper in the us Like ecotech mp40 cost around 30-40% more in Thailand than in the US The next time i go to the US, im sure as hell gonna get a suitcase full of equipments! Tank update #1
After running the tank for a few weeks, i decided to test the water by adding a few damsels and some buttons and gsp After seeing my damsels seem to do pretty alright, my urges overthrown my patience so today i went crazy and bought all kinds of stuffs from local fish market, knowing full well that some might not survive in the long run, but ill try to keep them for as long as possible Heres the tank after today shopping spree! My dream fish: Mr.Yen the yellow tang Some generic goby Hermits crabs and snails Not sure what kind though Pumping xenia, which not really pumps at all Various Zoas, if anyone can identify them please do coz i cant Scolymia, name unknow Toadstool, i think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Open brain coral, name needed
Some more GSP I hope they take over this rock soon My #2 favorite: Green and orange montipora My #1 favorite: Red Gorgonian! Which is the one i most worry about, im trying to give it phytoplankton as often as i can when the polyps are out along with water change every 3 days. Lets see how long it will last. Well thats it for now! PS. Brown algae starts popping up like mad and Mr.yen wouldn't eat properly, he keep ignoring the pallets and nori, but instead pick on algae on rocks which is not abundant at all considering most of my rocks are dry. Any suggestion? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
