Anemones

This is my first anemone. Iíve had it almost a month. I would just like to know if it looks ok. It hasnít really moved since I got it but today it seems to be moving quite a bit. I have posted pictures. I just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

Well that is a very bleached nem, squirt some mysis towards it a couple times a week and hopefully it regains color and health, a healthy host anemone is not white.

Possible a small crispa or malu anemone?

The Nem has lost the algae inside it during transport/import, it will gain a goldenbrown colour as it regain them. It's normal for them to get rid of the algae to control their inner chemical balance and they need time to both sense how the balance needs to be in your tank and then build it up for that new location.

As already mentioned above it needs food during this period, more than otherwise needed.
I mince fresh meaty seafood into some left over mineral additive and some water from the aquarium and turn off the powerheads and blow the water-cocktail on the anemone with one of those plastic basters.

That way you can give it really small pieces that doesn't take as much energy to digest, most people say feed it every two days until it regains colouration.

After it regains colouration it can use your light to gain energy but right now it basically can't.

When you said it moved a lot, did you mean it moved location or that it moved the outer skirts more?

Moved outer skirts more. It pretty much has not moved from that spot since I put it in there.

That could be a result of trying to move algae into the empty tentacles. I keep a LTA that is still not fully recoloured after import, and it will kinda "harvest" the tentacles that have more algae in circular motions and move it into those that does not have as much yet. Makes it squishe around and break routines a little.

Can you tell if any tentacles are getting darker?

Jumping into guesses based on the picture, it might be trying to move algae (zooxanthellae), from the inner tentacles to the outer ones.

Oh, also:

If if gets bigger food particles, it can make a similar move just before getting rid of waste, apparently to make sure it's base is completely clear as well.

Definitely want to feed that. Looks like an incredibly bleached LTA to me. How deep is your sand? Can you get a pic from above when it is totally open? Looks healthy aside from being bleached but if you have had it a month it should be regaining some color by now if it was happy.

Remaining colour might go really slow if it only got a few zooxanthellaes left when it started acclimatising?
It is very bleached at this point.

If it is a LTA, it mostly prefer to be near rock but deep in sand.
Does it have spots on the outside?

That nem doesn't look anything like my LTA
Not because of lack of color.. but because of lack of spots on its sides..I can't see the foot in any of the pictures.. but a LTA has a big red/pink foot.... I'll snap a pic of my LTA
