Can Pipefish and Seahorses catch Ich?

Hi everyone,

I posted this in the disease forum, but thought I'd post this question here too. I have a shallow reef system that I use as a coral QT system and I keep it fish-free because I also don't want to transmit ich that are hitchhikers to my main reef tank.

I was hoping to at least be able to keep dragonface pipe fish in my shallow reef tank but was wondering if they can catch/be carriers of ich?

Thank you in advance!

~ w

They can get ich but it is relatively rare. When they do get it, it is usually in the gills.

Any fish can get ich. Any wet thing can be a carrier for ich. Treat any and all objects that remain wet and come from a foreign tank with suspicion.
