Nice job sport! Hopefully I am not far behind you, getting my phyto and rots around for a clutch that should be laid in the next couple days. After brine can you do mysids, or start to try mixing in some Otohime?

Hey Sport,
Nice job so far. When I raised a few batches I went from rots then added crushed New Life Spectrum Grow pellets about day 4 as well as rots. Just took NLS grow pellets and crushed them into a powder. It didnt take long to switch to powder food. I didnt use any live food. HTH Dave |

sorry for the OT questions, then how do you do water changes for the culture if you do not reuse the water? I assume you would be throwing out rotifers, if you just dump water.

Feel free to ask questions but I can tell you there are many more people here that know much more about this than I do. I will always share what I do know from exprience. Hope this helps.

Day 10 No Loses
Well guys, I'm starting to relax a little I've had no loses since day 6 and I'm through meta now.
I feed prepared food this evening, used a pinch of TDO-A and they love it. I will feed some newly hatch brine and 2 sieves of rots about 3 hours from now and that will be it until morning. I would like to thank all of you for watching my thread and words of encouragement and support. A special thanks to my friend Shaun form the great state of SC for his help what an inspiration! http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...t=sp5day10.mp4

Day 11 one lose.
I cleaned the tank and did a 25% water change. I did have one lose still pre-meta, I think I see one more like that. Feed heavy on rotifers and that will be the last live food they have.

If they're thru meta, I would bump to B1, assuming you have it.
I had a moment of weakness and bought a naked clown and a Snowflake pair today. That puts me at 17 clownfish! What to pair a naked Ocy with ???

Day 12 feel out of the woods now.
It’s amazing how much they grow ever day and it’s really hard to see in the video but they are going to be very nice looking Juvenals.
http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...t=sp5day12.mp4 This is a little off track but I pick up this pair about 2 or so months ago. I was told by the store manager that they where wild caught. That’s always question able. Anyway they have paired up and it looks like the may spawn down the road soon. Just thought I try to raise some. http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...=NewPair-1.mp4 I have another hatch tomrrow night.

Day 15 in their new home now.
Well I made the transfer yesterday to the grow out tank and they seem to be doing great and always hungry. I put them in a 20 long so I should be good for a while.
I did had another hatch on Friday and all I can say about that is, what am I going to do with all these fish. http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...sp5day15-2.mp4

Day 16 WOW do they grow!
I’m not new to breeding fish because I raised fresh water Angelfish years ago by the hundreds & hundreds the procedure is somewhat similar only on the Angel’s you take the clutch from the parents as soon as they spawn and IMO much more difficult to raise than the clowns.
What is totally amazing with the clowns is the growth rate daily, it unbelievable! Day 15-16 blows my mind. http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/...t=sp5day16.mp4
