What would you do? (Nano setup scheme)
I picked up a Current USA nano tank, something like 28 gallon. It has the rear refugium. It is going to be placed at the veterinary clinic I work for. So I have a few ideas but I would like to get everyone else's opinions too.
1) I already upgraded the lights to a straight pin (from square pin) set up and moved connectors back to make room for a bigger bulb and am running 36w 16 inch bulbs. I am thinking x1 bulb pink/blue (8000K/12000K) and a 50/50 (10K/03 Actinic). What bulbs would you run? 2) I can't fit a skimmer. What would you guys do to compensate for this? 3) For the refugium: I am going to try to fit a UV sterilizer in the first compartment. In the second compartment I am going to try to fit a general purpose media reactor and run Chemipure Blue in it. All the additional available space I will fill with biomax to mimic the biological functions of live rock. How would you guys set it up? Thanks for all your input!! |

I'm not familiar with that tank but there would be some skimmer that should fit back there. Not critical though. I wouldn't bother with UV. Not typically worth running. Why do you want to run it?

I was gana run it since it is at the clinic just to ensure it look perfect ALL the time. Just a little redundancy I guess for water clarity.
And with the hood I don't see how I could (but would love if I could) run a skimmer but it shuts literally like an inch above the water line and I don't see how one could fit with a collection cup. However if there is one out there that would work I would love to know! I'm not super familiar with all the cool nano equipment out there. |
