Pump suggestion -
Ive been going back through old thread and Ive seen so many different suggestions that Ive got my mind muddled up a bit so I figured id just ask on a new thread where Im not getting opinions mixed up. I would like suggestions on a pump for my 60g cube I am putting in. I bought it used and it came with a submersible danner 9.5 pond pump, but I have never used one and from what people are saying, its going to be pretty noisy and hot all that, is this true?
so Im thinking i may start out with a new one and not worry about it. So suggestions? Whats a good quiet pump? Eheim? Im not wanting to spend top dollar, but I dont think it should be too expensive since its only a 60g tank with a 20g sump. All that will be in the tank is a couple lionfish |

Eheim, Tunze, Fluval, Sicce Syncra, are all reasonably priced pumps that have good reputations.
Mags are great pumps too, just usually get a little loud after a while. More so than others.

I had a Jebao DCS-5000 on my 60 cube for 2 years which was more than enough, way more. I liked that I could control the overall volume, feed setting, etc. For my new tank I went with Eheim, everyone seems to say they universally last forever. I got the 1262 for a 160 gallon (total) and it is quiet. I didn't go Jebao again because I had 2 powerheads of theirs fail in under a year (1st in 6 months). So jebao worked great for 2 years, but I don't trust the quality long term. But they are cheaper so...

This ^ I’ve been using jeabos for years. I’m running dcp-5000 on my 40b/20l sump, 2 dcp-15000 on my 220 (one is a closed loop) , and a dcp-3000 on my 20l/10gal sump. Soon to set up a 180tall/75sump running with a dcp-15000. Ive only had one issue and it was my fault (I broke the impeller). They run super quiet and are very energy efficient to boot! People tend to talk crap on products they have never actually used haha. But if you clean them from time to time (I clean mine every other month) they last forever! Just (2 weeks ago) put a Sicce Syncra 1.5 in my BioCube 32 LED, and it is totally silent.
