Can you remove a Large Toadstool Leather from rock?
I bought a very large toadstool leather from my LFS display tank. I did not see any cyano or dino's on the rock or in the tank. But since I have put this piece in my display tank I have had a never ending battle of dino's and now cyano. I believe the culprit is the new rock with the leather. I never had this issue prior to introducing this rock. The foot of the leather is about 4" in diameter. I want the leather but I need the rock gone. I think it is just leaching phosphates and nitrates. Is there something I can do to get the leather off the rock?

Thanks. That's what I thought. And then just kinda wedge it in between a couple of rocks so it can attach?

Maybe use a rubber band, loosely, to keep it in place.

Just use a straight razor. I frag my leather every few months with a regular straight razor. If you can take out tank that is ideal since they slime up ALOT when it cut

I'm sure you can YouTube and watch it being done. Maybe will help you feel more comfortable doing it.

Leathers are indeed easy to frag and grow out
