My corals suffered terribly when my PO4 zeroed! They turn pale, STN from tips, just stopped growing too.

If I had not been monitoring as well as I do I would have completely missed it! I added some Seachem Florish Phosphorus and now it's about .08 and things are doing much better. It will take time but I expect a full recovery.

I think that's a good explanation. Essentially it can activate and deactivate proteins including enzymes regulating them for normal activity or a change in conditions.

Glad to see someone else is using Seachem Flourish Phosphorus. I may be suffering from low PO4 in one of my tanks and have a bottle on the way. What made you choose .08 as your set point and what did you test at before dosing?

What's the advantage in doing it like this instead of just feeding your fish more?

Let me explain a little better. Rather than sump a lot of food in my system that truly needed I can add a few drops of the product to bring the levels to where I need them. I have a very hard time brining PO4 or NO3 up or down with feeding. My filtration is effective and I also have added Potassium Nitrate to bring up my nitrate.

Food is good, my system needs a lot of food two. I've considered removing filter socks and carbon for a while. Maybe shutting down the skimmer a few hours.

I have a bunch I change out everyday or 2 enough for 2-3 weeks then I just throw them in the wash. In my system they prevent micro bubbles but also prevent food from passing around the system.
