Thanks, I was hoping to match my sump and skimmer stand.

I liked your color choices so much I ordered a 60" skimmer in the same trim. I will post a picture when it arrives!

How's your skimmer been working?

Like a champ!

Once I dialed it in, which was quite easy, I haven't touched it since.
No overflows, quiet, it's a workhorse.
Somedays it skims better than others, not because there is a problem, but due to the organic load of the water.

And one of my main reasons was so I could run Ozone. Happy to say setting that up was a snap.

I will never go back to a needle wheel type of skimmer.

Agreed the flange is well worth the cost

I am happy to say that I will join Lifereef club soon. Ended up winning used skimmer from eBay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lifereef-ge...O/263967990032

In case RC modifies link, item number is 263967990032.

I was on the fence if I should bid on it, but talking with Jeff removed any doubts I had. To say I am impressed with his service would be an understatement. I wasnt sure of the exact model and sent him few questions. 30 min later he replied with lot more details than I inquired in and sent user guides my way. He even said it is a good buy, which I didnt expect because he isnt making the sale, and wont be making any $ from it. It will need a nice vinegar bath and clean once I get it delivered, but I dont foresee any issues with it.

Looking forward to picking all of your brains shortly. Thanks

That's after 2 days. I have it skimming pretty wet but you can see in the waste collector down below it's already pulling! Pretty slick setup and works so much better than my old H&S needle wheel! So far I'm loving old school!

Thanks
Matt

Not sure what you mean by isolating.... cavitation, maybe?

I’ve got a Jebao DCT-4000 running full speed on my 24” LifeReef in about 8” of water... the water line is about an inch above the outlet pipe. My pump is not sitting on the bottom of the sump, though. It’s suspended by the feed hose... picture is better than description:

I turned the pump back to 60% (1700 gph) and its working a lot better...So maybe I had too much water going to it....

Am I reading this right?
Your pump is hanging off your skimmer via flex hose and straps?

That seems like a disastor waiting to happen in so many ways...

Yes, I have a SVS3-24. COR 20, running at 100% works great.

Joined the club!

Obviously bought used... Got a great deal on a 30" svs3! I wish more people took pride in their used equipment when they sell it and cleaned it up before shipping. This thing had a 1/4" of sludge 2" below the flange.

Traveling for work but its soaking in vinegar until i get back on Friday.

This is going on a currently very lightly stocked 280, total volume around 350. It will be running a mag18. Will probably upgrade the height as stocking increases. Thoughts on if it's necessary?
