whos tank emits odors?
do any of your tanks have a distinct smell around the area causing your house to stink up a bit and if so whats the cause you think?

i do but had a hicup in setup where it didnt run for 2 wks..but back up again last 5 days..i run the lignite carbon

Mine doesn’t and I have 400gallons in the house. The other 300gallons are in the garage. I do not run carbon except for a random occurrence

Are you talking about the smell of the skimmer?. I find skimmers make a very distinct smell due to the frothy bio mess they collect.

For the first month my live rock made the reef smell like the bay at low tide then once the reef cycled it was gone. My skimmate smelled horrible for the first year, now it doesnt smell a whole lot.

What is the smell?
If it isn't pleasant, I would be concerned you might have a leak that is permeating the wall/floor. You might want to have a look around. |

I just make sure I dump the skimmer cup dailey. Keeps the female happy.

ok Smell isnt noticable anymore..changed sock and carbon was offline for 2 wks but up and running now last 5 days
