Thanks! Fill me in on what "theme" it is, because at this point I'm just overwhelmed.

D2, I'm a landscape designer and I knew you were in the design field as soon as I saw your stand. Visually flawless! In fact I love your stand so much Id love to see it get its own build thread! Everything about this build says Professional. On a side note, what would it take to get you to share a copy of your plans for that stand? I'm planning a 150 cube and I find myself obsessed with the aesthetics and functionality of your stand. |

I designed the look of the stand but I wasn't the builder. I had a local guy do it. Thank you! Quote:
I drove out of town this morning and got back this evening and had to do a water change. Ammonia was spiking from some sponge die-off most likely. Might have to do another water change tomorrow. I did do some re-aquascaping tonite though. I'm liking it better now.

So far seems like you have a sponge theme going on. Not a typical looking tank, very cool and original.

d2Mini - I love your stand. I can't stop thinking about it and designing one for myself!
Those sponges will probably die in the long run - I've seen in a few threads where they pretty much slowly wither away. They look neat at first, but really need to stay in the ocean. I can't wait to start seeing this tank mature. Are both Vortechs running yet? |

Did some re-aquascaping saturday and moved some of the sponges around sunday. I'm trying to keep ammonia below 1.0 so I've done two 25g water changes so far and will have to do another tonite. I think I got the rocks pretty much where I want them with two non-symmetrical islands which looks good but also allows the Vortechs to push water between them and then bounce off the front corner and throughout the tank. It was REALLY hard trying to fit rock in a walk around tank without just piling it all in the center! But I think it turned out kinda cool. I even have a little roof sticking out from the right side in the center.
Also got my FLOR tiles delivered on Friday! So i laid those down on sunday, too. And finally I also received my Vortech Back-up Battery so I installed that. Oh and last week I got my BRS reactor going with HC GFO and ROX Carbon, and also installed my Turbo Twist UV Filter in my sump. So I think I've now got all tank equipment hooked up and running, all my rock, sand and cuc is in, I've got some pretty stuff in the tank to look at for a while... so I think I'm good! My next project is going to be in the garage. Two 65g food grade water storage tanks, plumbed together, for fresh and saltwater mixing. With a hidden water line running through the wall to my tank for ATO, and another set of plumbing to do water changes direct from the water tanks. To be continued.... Here's some new pics.

Oh crap.... I'm jealous again... This is so well done and planned. I want a big cube like this. Love the stand with wide doors and lots of room. Definitely love the overflow with the vortechs compartment for the dry side. Your house is beautiful also

D2, it is really coming together nicely. Concerning your ATO and 65G remote containers, where did you get your containers from and what pump are you using to pump the water? I need to do the same thing, just have not got to it yet...

Really nice setup there d2. I have started my 93 cube build, here is the link. Not as fancy as your tank and equipment though.
Keep it up. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1780539 |

Hey D2, I am in the Heights, and I got a piece of blue sponge that would look great in there. I saw that tank at SA and was in awe, I was even thinking about picking up its twin, but cant at the moment, anytime you have some free time, would like to see this tank in person sometime, especially filled up. 713 298 1392, text me if you ever need a hand or anything.
