Hi Peeps,
Here is a video of my system after 5 days of ASH falling into it from the wildfires. Everything is fine. Inside and out no ill effects. Dave B

You have such a beautiful tank, Dave! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on here, but I’m getting the itch for a new reef tank...

It's been a rough year for the system. Due to unstable technology we had constant issues with stability. While the fish didn't mind the corals have had a really rough time since New Years. Things have finally stabilized out, and slowly the corals are coming back to looking the way they should.
I will post a video of the display tank in the next few days. Or take a peak at it. The Live webcam is up and running 24/7 o2manyfish.com/webcam This week we are have 4 days of 'Excessive Heat Warnings' - For Los Angeles this means 4 days with temps over 104 degrees. 2 weeks ago we went from normal summer weather to all of a sudden a 117 degrees on a Friday. By 1pm on that Friday my flower beds were toast. Palm trees yellowed. African tree ferns, turned brown and branches snapped off like toast. It was brutal. The system is usually temp stable with fans up to 104. But at 1pm when it was around 112 the temp rose to 83. I popped up an EZUP tent, and the temp stopped rising. In anticipation of this week's heat wave, I put the tent up on Sunday. Today is day 3 of the heat wave with temps expected to hit 110. And as of this morning the 4 day heat warning, has now been extended till at least Saturday. But, so far this week we haven't gone past 82.5 -- Here is a video of the outdoor frag tank yesterday afternoon with temps well over the 100 degree mark. Make sure you watch till the end... there is a surprise. Dave B

Hi O2 - glad to see the outside tank is doing well. 106 up North of you outside Sacramento. We drove down to Monterey yesterday to get a bit of cooler temperatures.
Nice touch on the end Looking forward to what you have in store.

I have been making slow progress on the filtration upgrade on the system. But alas the new sump is filling with water. Good news is my DIY RO System produced almost 200 gallons in about 16 hours!!!
Stay tuned..... (PS - I have no idea why on my screen the photos are upside down.....) This will be interesting when this sump goes online. In the past 7.5 years I have only done (2) actual water changes (if memory serves) and each time it was about 100g. Now I'm going to mix in 400g of 0 TDS water. Should be interesting if anything changes. Also if anyone is checking the webcam, to the left and above the tank I have installed the Alkatronic Alkalinity Monitor. While the app is a little finicky, one the unit is running it's been awesome. If interested in getting one, be aware, my experience the consumption of Reagent is significantly greater than anyone else has reported. In other words, if you get one, make sure you get some extra reagent as well. Dave B

Been awhile since I pulled out the Macro Lens.
These photos were shot under Radions G3 Pro - All channels at 100%. These are not shot under bluish, blue or heavy blue. I love this Aussie Piece, the polyps aren't on any of the tips. This one came from Aussie a few months ago. It was yellow and pink. I got it because it has a Coco Worm growing in the center, and the wife loves Coco Worms. But now it's purple and green. Here is a Grafted Setosa I have been growing out for the past 2 years. To get the Red v Green to really pop you need to crank up the blues. But I think that is because I have it so high in the tank. But under the whites and with the macro take a look at all the color mixing in this one Dave B

My Miyagi Tort Colony--- So many years and it still has some crazy contrasting colors
This Monti is the reason I pulled out the Macro lens tonight. I didn't know what it was and needed an ID - Turns out this is Tropic Thunder. One of the few corals I have that looks better from the side than from above. Dave B

I'm working on cleaning up some of the mess of the outside fish tanks. The original filtration system when it was built 15+ years ago there wasn't much information about building a saltwater system to last outdoors in the elements. I've learned alot.
So now here is the new filtration system up and running. Dave B

Looks great Dave. Really great system inside and out with attention to detail. Love how you added in warning / notifications. Very key I think. Interesting comment on the Apex. Have you provided them any feedback? Also looked at any other systems say like GHL or open source like the reef angel?
The Flameback looked very well for not knowing it was there. Obviously it was getting food. Amazing. Also with the cardinal fish. Sorry to hear that one was lost but the good news is that you have their offspring. Thanks for taking the time with the video. I always enjoy watching them and learn something new.
