Creating Virtual outlets and Alarms
If I add a module (DC8) and name one outlet: PumpAlarm
And then add the following statements in the outlet: Fallback OFF Set OFF If Outlet Return = OFF Then ON If Outlet Skimmer = OFF Then ON Defer 010:00 Then ON (equal sign was added on its own-- didnt accept the statements without it) I could then go to the Email outlet and add: Set OFF If Outlet PumpAlarm ON Then ON Right? It wont let me add that statement into the Email alarm. For now, I'm just trying to learn to make virtual outlets.

It should take it, but it needs the "=' in it. I tested it without the "=" and it issued an error and did not add the "=". Also, you don't really need the Fallback statement with virtual outlets. Or even with an actual DC8 outlet since only the new EB8 module supports the feature.

Ah yea it works now. So any time any of the statements in PumpAlarm are off, itll activate an email only after 10 minutes? Can I make it easier by seperating virtual outlets into: PumpAlarm, TempAlarm, PowerAlarm.
Also, if I put a defer statement in the virtual outlets, do i need a defer statement for the Email? I was wondering, what would happen if I had a skimmer or pump, and for some reason they just lock up and no longer work-- but the outlet stays on, can I set it the statements to look at the power from the outlet?

The "if outlet" statement is the only statement that requires the = sign.
You can separate those virtual outlets giving each their own Defer if you want. The advantage is in the email alarm, it will tell you which one tripped the alarm vs. just "pumpalarm" You don't want (typically) a defer in the email alarm because that will further delay you getting an alert. You can if you want but I wouldn't. Your defer in the virtual outlet will do what you want. You can't test the current on an outlet (or the EB8 for that matter). You can only test if the EB8 has lost power. Best way to test for a failed pump is a high water float in your sump.
