each ECM 63 is around 14,500gph. honestly not much info can be found. I decided to get it because I saw one here in LA. It moves amazing amount of water. The person sold me the tank said 1 would be good enough for my tank. 2 at most when I have corals grown in.

Benefits:
-pushes a ton of water with 1 pump
-magnet can be placed anywhere. even inside wet areas like overflow box
-silent operation
-self cleaning
-lot of modes, simulating flash floods, dry/wet seasons, etc.

Con:
-$2400 each with the snail guard...
-not many users here in the US

With a MP60 or Gyre, it's more of a straight flow. your fish would swim forward, or it would be blasted back.

With the ECM, (from what I saw) they call it laminar flow. a fish not swimming would be floating up and down like the waves.. more natural.

Here we go. Sump is here. Thanks to John at advanced acrylic.

Sump was divided in 2 for easier fitting. Entire back roll has different sized holes for equipment plumbing. Also built a few controller holders. John will come do all final fixing after

Left sump: 3 sock holder, sock silencer, theiling rollermat section, skimmer section.

Right sump: refugium, biorock box, return section, dry section, uv holder, dosing containers, dosing tubes holders.

The dry section gets no water u less the sump overflows. Act as another 50gal holder. Ill put the calcium reactor and ARID inside.

Why you plan socks and Rollermat? Rollermat is able to admission the hole flyback water?

just a bit of redundancy. I over feeder and tend to leave socks in for a long time. But without socks the nitrate goes up. The rollermat is connected to a small pump so it's removable when not needed.

Do you have room to run your uv with the unions vertical? The way it sits now will trap air, get too hot, and wreck the bulb/quartz sleeve.

I know you've already ordered the panta rhei, but have you also considered the Tunze 6150? Looks like an amazing pump that might complement the PR quite nicely. Supposed to come out next month. Anyway, I'm contemplating one for my 300.

Yes I have 3ft of space under the tank. I'm just sitting the UV for a picture. It will be hard plumbed in via PVC.

so you suggest the outlet and inlet unions facing up?

I used a 40watt UV previously, just sitting on the floor. Didn't notice any heat issues

I have not used any Tunze pumps before, usually their weird size is a turn off. This one looks pretty cool. Really trying to go cordless inside the tank. the PR is kind of an experiment

This is a very cool build! I am glad to see someone try out the PR ECM63, I'll be following along to see what you think about it once you have set it up.

I went with an Abyzz concealed in a custom built ceramic rock and love the fine tuning possibilities and 1% increments to dial the flow pattern according to your needs.
I have the ARID as well, I think you'll like it once it's all dialed in.

I think I got it for around $250. a little expensive for grow light but it looks clean.
