What is ORP?

I saw a post from Tom mentioning his ORP. I wasn't quite sure what he was referring to, so I researched it. I fount a really good article on the subject here: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-1...ture/index.php

Sorry Nick. It wouldnt take much discussion re ORP for me to be inover my head. The article Cory posted covers it very well,Thx Cory, for me orp is what increases sometimes to too high a level say when you over do it with carbon and your corals get burned from it almost like too much light was suddenly able to penetrate the water column. You all know chemistry is not one of my best subjects. I cant even install dosing pumps without almost nuking my tank. Doh.
