Gallons to inches?

Who still follows the old gallons to inches method of stocking a tank? I'm going to be setting up a 150g and I'm wondering just how many fish and what kind I can put in it. I have 7 fish in my 26 gallon.

Well, sorry to be blunt but I hope no one. Individual personality is going to trump any general rule of thumb like inches of fish per gallon. Another problem is two fish the same size and length can have very different body weights. It also does not take into consideration the size of fish in 3, 4, or 5 years when fish mature.

All depends on the adult size of each fish and if they can tolerant each other. once you put it in the tank be prepared to leave it there or you will be rearranging your LR, Corals in an attempt to catch the fish you are trying to remove.

Those are ALL for the 150.. my 26g is maxed out at 7 fish. I got lucky by getting 2 that stay at the top of the water 90% of the time so they don't really take up much room lol.
