Mixing Blennys?
Has anyone successfully mixed blennies before? Please share your experiences! I want to mix a Tail Spot blenny, midas blenny, blackline blenny, and a green canary blenny in a 75 gallon mixed reef tank, thoughts? Opinions?
Thank you!

I have not but I don't think there should be many issues if you provide a lot of structure for them. They like to have little nooks, crannies, caves. I assume there will be some territoriality but that shouldn't be a huge deal.

You could have issues, i had a bicolor blenny for over a year n then I got a tailspot blenny. The tailspot blenny was harassing the bicolor n eventually he jump out of my 110g.

I just mixed two Figi Fan tail Bleeny's one is golden and the other is olive, so far they are getting along pretty good a little chasing here and there, and just when the older one thinks he is going to get the better of the new fellow my Powder Blue tankg will knock him across the tank.
PS I love your avatar but I gave up at staring at it. |

Fish with the same body shape usually don't mix well.

Rock work looks beautiful!
How much work are the sun corals? Unfortunately you have a 'tall' tank instead of a 'wide' tank. A 'standard' 75 gallon tank is usually 4' wide, 18" high and 18" deep. This provides more floor space and potential homes at the edge of the rock work. I don't know enough about the different blennies, maybe just 3 of them? Or even your 2 favorites or the 2 most dissimilar? Looking forward to hearing about them. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |
