I have had this one for a little over a year. And the original owner had it for 3 years before that.
Hard to get a good idea of the size, but it is a like a ball a good 10" in diameter when it is all blown up. Anyway, I also have a snail graveyard underneath the body of the elegance. I've suspected for a long time that the elegance was killing them. But I couldnt be sure as the elegance is in a corner, and I thought it possible that shells were just collecting there. Now I see a lot of other people thinking the same thing. I wonder if the elegance could really be eating the snails though. Hard to imagine that the tentacles are getting inside the shells and pulling them out. I'd suspect snails are just getting trapped underneath and just dying from some sort of toxins. But I dont really know. I'm glad the sea cucumbers that like to stay underneath it arent dying too.

BEAUTIFUL ELEGANCE EVERYONE!
Just wanted to bump the thread to see some updated pic's of some of these corals. It would be nice to see how many of them are still with us.
And as always, any elegance pic's would be nice. |

1.5 years later and mine are still doing great.
My two in my 20g nano: And my tiny little itty bitty frag still doing fine after 1 year, he now has developed a mouth. I'm likely going to start feeding him soon starting with mysis. Still about the size of a nickel, you can see how large the damsel looks next to him. This elegance lives in my 5.5g pico.

My elegance continues to thrive.
A while back somebody posted a pic of their elegance eating some small stomatella snails off the glass. My elegances has lately developed a taste for 2" Turbo snails!!! Sometimes the snails manage to close up tight and escape, but then other times the elgance will pull them out of their shell, and I will see an empty snail shell with that little 'closing disc' on the sandbed... I used to have over 20 turbos and now I have about 5 left... now I don't have any other recent full sized shots of it for some reason, but here is an actinic only macro shot:

After reading and researching, and reading and researching some more, I've been on the lookout for one of those beauties. Well today was my lucky day.

Here's mine, I have had this for a month now. It got bigger and healthier in my tank. I've been trying to feed him with some silversides but still not eating.

Here is mine. It went from one to three mouths with me, then went down hill. I'm thinking h hat by the time we see symptoms it's too late. As such I want to get a shipment, preferably from Indonesia, and try treating all of the for a month with everything I can throw at them. I'm really in love with this coral. Do any of you guys still have yours? Are any of you old timers still in the hobby? I'm looking to buy more elegance by the way of anyone is getting rid of any.

Nicest elegance I've ever seen was a Halloween orange tip.
