KH Buffer - could I bake it?

Hi Aquaforest,

Is there anything else in the KH Buffer beside Sodium bicarbonate? I would like to bake it in the oven to make Sodium carbonate.

I've seen everything from 200-400F for 1 hour. I bake for 1 hour at 300F because that's what Randy Holmes-Farley suggests here: http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php#5

You can but sodium carbonate off ebay at 5lbs for about $12 and no need to bake it. Not sure of the purity, especially when using washing soda.
