Hanna Alk checker

I have been using my Salifert test kit for Alk but thought about trying my Hanna again. I checked it with the control for it that came with it. It read 100 PPM.

I then check online to see what the control should read and if it is between 90 and 110 PPM that is acceptable. That's a dKH between 5.031 and 6.15.

I don't now about you but that much difference (> 1.0) unacceptable.

I just got the hanna alk meter. I've been cross referencing with my salifert kit. Both come out the same every time.

A 10% error either way might be as good as it gets for the meter. An alkalinity kit like the Salifert can do better, but it's more work.

I checked the drip amount of the salifert kits and after 10 drops the plunger was down to .75 so each drop is close to .025 ml. That is a difference of .4 dKH for each .01 ml of reagent.
