MarinePure Spheres
Hi,
Was looking for reefers that have or had used MarinePure 1.5" Spheres. Wanted to know how well they hold up specifically if they stayed intact vs getting soft. I added a Brightwell Xport Dimpled Brick and it basically got soft and dissolved into sand after 5~6 months, highly disappointed with their product. |

I use them in my DT and in my QTs. They don't get soft either. I also have the 8x8x4 block and that also doesn't get soft

Warren, there have been concerns with aluminum leeching from this product.
Some suggest Siporax in it's place.

I use the 8x8x4 blocks in my DT, and the balls are in my sump to seed my QT when I need to. I get my water tested semi-annually and haven't seen any elevation in Al.

I've also used both bricks and spheres, the sphere's are a lot less brittle and don't degrade.

Thanks Vinny & everyone else!
I did read about the aluminum but I also thought it was from the copied product coming out of China (fake MarinePure). Funny thing is that I sent an angry email to BrightWell yesterday and they said there were 2 bad batches that were not oven fired correctly. They are sending out a replacement but I think that I want to try the MarinePure Spheres this time around. |
