Most Likely Store To...

...have a really nice tank and stabd combination?

If you had to go to one store in the chicago area for a new 100 gallonish tank and stand combination, where would you go?

Thanks!

If on Northside of the city I'd go to Old Orchard Aquarium in Skokie. If your in the south burbs , Aquatica in Tinley Park.

I think it is Aqua Pros in Glen Ellyn? Aquarium Adventure in Schaumburg usually has a pretty decent selection of tanks with stands and canopies. Most of them do look really nice. That said they are a bit pricey.

Realizing this is an older post, I just wanted to put it out there that I wouldn't recommend going to Old Orchard Aquarium. I bought a lot of livestock and supplies from this place. However, the last (and final) time I went there I bought a larger bulkhead for a new system. The manager helped me out and grabbed it for me and then wrote me up with a handwritten receipt. I got it home and realized it was fractured all the way down the neck. When I took it back, he wouldn't let me return it (not even for credit) claiming I didn't have a proper receipt. I even pointed out that he was the one that worked with me and wrote out the receipt. He denied it. These guys don't get the point of running a retail store. Another example, I bought a Bellus Angel from there for a market price. They put two females in the same tank, and the female I bought apparently got the better of the other; in fact, the other female lost an eye. However, they kept trying to sell the other female for the same price. It just sat there for months.

Chicago Stores

If in Chicago an looking for somewhere to try out, I would suggest going to Tank-it-Easy (Ashland and Waveland). I get most everything from there and they quarantine their livestock, etc., unlike Old Town Aquarium. Plus, they are reasonably priced for being in the city.
