Magnets

So I just noticed the power head magnet in my mixing tank had a damaged coating and the magnet is all rusted. I was wondering what effect it could have on my display. I have no idea how long it has been like that. I also use the same holding tank to produce makeup water.

Usually best to replace it..
Iron oxide (rust) shouldn't really cause any problems but other elements in the magnet may..
Some have reported problems that they attributed to a rusty magnet and others have found theirs rusty and never noticed any issues..

Thanks. Already replaced it and put in some fresh charcoal. Everything looks ok so we’ll hope for the best
