I know all about delays. ☺ If nothing else, large tanks teach patience. Looks like you are getting good equipment and I am looking forward to seeing the build progress.

Another addition you might consider (maybe you already have) is the MarinePure blocks. In my short experience these do a terrific job of reducing nitrates. Some have reported they do TOO good a job. Anyway, it would be an easy and natural way to remove nitrates and you could potentially return your denitrator. Just a thought!

Have three of those 8x4x4. I've been reading that it leaks aluminum though. Look up the threads. Triton systems test through a lab and the Aluminum consistently goes up in their systems. May not be good for leathers

the aluminum leaking is only during the initial phrase. According to Randy (who was one of the first to notice this issue), as long as your block has been in the system for awhile, it shouldn't leak anymore. I'll see if I can dig up his original quote..

I've been using the blocks for a few years without issue. People say it affected their mushrooms and LPS. I didn't want to risk my corals so I switched to Siporax. Made out of glass. if you can find the 25mm (ebay), they work just as well. I just bought 100ml for myself

It's like the biopellets. Initially they are great for the system. But once it becomes mature. No longer needed.

I saw the theiling but it's rated for 125 gallons. May be tight under my sump as well. The robot glass cleaner is cool but for the $ I rather clean the glass manually plus it could knock down your snails and make them a snack lol

Who needs snails when you have a robot?

ya I don't care too much for the cleaning. The camera feature is cool. look at the fish anywhere on the go!

I designed my sump to have filter sock chamber > theiling rollermat > equipment > Siporax bio media > return

I'll look into the siporax although if the aluminum leakage goes away with time then it's a good thing I have to still cycle the tank. I'm planning on buying things slowly as far as livestock. Get the less aggressive animals in first and inverts. Moorish idols butterflies. Figure ill let them establish themselves before adding tangs and more aggressive fish. This will give time for any issues the bio blocks may presemt

Just received more shelf dry rock. More sand. Geo 1218 Reactor arrives next week I believe. Algae scrubber should arrive as well. I did order a Reef Octopus 10500 which I'm hoping to run as a CL and flow through the UV as well. Electrician works his magic tomorrow.

how much did you pay for the UV? Did you get it from BRS?

My genesis system just arrived.. I think I might take the plunge on the UV now
