Algae ID
Can anyone determine what type of algae this is growing on my return nozzles?
I put some in the tank to see if my naso or idol would eat it and they go crazy for the stuff. |

Looks just like it but mine is very green flies under the blue lights. Not sure how it popped up just recently though. I haven’t added anything in many months, though I do get snails and dry rock from the beach

If the only change is the snails and rock coming from the beach then I think you've found your source.
Don't underestimate the ability of life to find its way into places you didn't think possible, like via dry rock or the back of a snail shell. |
