Acronyms
still getting my feet wet i have just recently discovered what a FOWLR is.
it gets frustrating not knowing the lingo and i hate feeling stupid everytime i have to ask. some ive seen include LFS, LPS, SPS can't remember the others. Are there more, and what do they mean? |

yeah, the stickies are there for a reason. A lot of acronyms get thrown around and it can be a little overwhelming at first

You missed RUGF or reverse undergravel filter such as I use.
Oh, never mind, I see it in that last bunch.

It was just an idea I had to turn a power head to blast down into the air up lift pipe and use one of them and that was my first. After making them work spot on with simplistic pre filtering they were great for holding tanks for my commercial collection back then. The best one I made was one that ran a spot on reverse cycle just off air up lifts and I was still able to incorporate simple to clean pre filtering on each entry to the under gravel. That was great as I had a one massive air pump for all holding tanks. Nothing works better for the complete nitrogen cycle then a well designed reverse flow! |

They are good, but I did away with them, their only draw backs are weak bio sinks and a little to strong with inorganic production.
Gee that's a long time to stick with one kind of bio system. The last one I used had algae and a two part dry section to support it, they are good for sure. Is he kidding or serious in not knowing what a reverse flow is? |

I see guys mentioning TT and PP. I assume PP is prazi-pro which is a med but what is TT? Typically see these acronyms on Achilles Tang threads.
