Nice. How often do you feed your shark and what do your nitrates run at with him in the tank?

Thanks. But you stepped it up by putting a shark in yours. Does he break any of he frags when he swims? Has he attempted to catch any fish yet?

updates! got a new skimmer off of craigslist! It is a custom 4.5' tall geo dual beckett ran off of a dolphin 3900s pump only 150watts. It pulls mud out of my tank like no 2mro. I also sold my shark he ate about 10 of my fish. my nitrates droped to zero and got a bad cyno out break so I took my ats off line and turned down the flow on my reef dynamics bio pellet reacter. And got the aluminum for my new led build that I will be starting soon.

FIRST 24 HOURS OF BREAK IN

FIRST 3 DAYS!!!

THE TANK I HOOKED MY SKIMMER UP TO TIE IT INTO MY SYSTEM

NEW PLUMBING UNDER MY TANK

MY REEF DYNAMICS BIO PELLET REACTOR 500G MODEL

Tank looks much better. Have you dropped your alkalinity now that you don't have sand in the tank?

yeah it pulled alot of stuff when I first put it on. But now it dont have much to pull out of the water so I think I might put it on a timer.

Wow. That is understandable. Do you feel the tank is running better without the sand? How did you compensate for the loss of the nitrifying bacteria?

As for my build, it is on pause because of electrical work needing to be ran to the room. Plus I will be having alot of doctor appointments in the next couple months so I have to fit in the build as I can. The tank should be setup and running by then. Just trying to juggle health and family issues first.

Yes much cleaner. I use special blend bacteria and run a bio pellet reactor. Yes it's good to plan ahead and take your time because the tank turns out better and just the way you want it to be. And then you are not wishing you did something Different down the road. I hope everything goes your way man.

i also removed most of the sand in my 150 reef. Since I removed it the brown slime has disappeared! Im breaking my tank down now to move to a new home but when i set the system back up i plan to use crushed coral or crushed live rock for substrate. Should be alot better i believe because water will be able to flow through it better to flush out the detritus.
