Got another Green Gig

Hopefully this one stays looking good. Had a bit of a disaster in shipping as the bag broke and the anemone arrived in no water. So far it doesn't seem to have had an effect on it though. Puffed up quickly after getting it in the QT. I'm hoping to not have to treat this one.

Looking pretty flawless when I got home. I think I got lucky with this one. I'll give it a few days in qt just to be sure

Do you automatically treat it with cipro or are you going to let it just hang out in QT first?

Not treating this one unless needed. Usually I treat as soon as they arrive when they are fresh imports. This one has been established for a little while. I think this one is fine though. I gave it a mysis shrimp a little bit ago and it took and are it immediately. I know it's not recommended to feed them till they settle in but I've never had a sick one that would eat. I kind of use eating as a test to be sure they are not going need to be treated.

Ok. Good luck with it! I'm looking for a green gig as well. We get them occasionally in Sacramento but they seem to be pretty seasonal.

beautiful! crossing my fingers that it's good and healthy. How long are you going to watch it before acclimating to the DT or deciding to cipro treat it?

Only a few days for this one assuming it doesn't show any negative signs.

I'm definitely happy with it. It's been a long journey to get a healthy green one. I've had a few that looked like they were going to make it and ended up dying even with following the Cipro protocol perfectly. I definitely paid up for this one but in the end I figured it was worth paying much more than I normally would for one that I knew was healthy than to keep taking chances on fresh imports.

Makes sense. Hopefully it makes a smooth transition to the DT. Keep us posted

Still looks great today. Now I need to start clearing space in the display for it.

Still doing very well but the blue doesn't want to share the spotlight. The green moved from the rock that I thought was perfect for it and decided to wedge in behind the blue.

I finally got tired of it being totally blocked and moved the green so it was at least only partially blocked. Didn’t want to disturb it too much so I didn’t totally pull it off the main rock it was on.
